Vienna University of Economics and Business

    What was your starting point?

In 2014, we decided to enhance the university’s liquidity and cash-flow planning, which until then had been carried out using Microsoft Excel, with professional standard software. A standardized selection process, in which we were assisted by an external consulting firm, led us to the Hamburg software house Corporate Planning with its own Competence Centre in Vienna.

    What were your highlights?

The greatest highlights for us were the intuitive design of the user interfaces and the clear layout of Corporate Planner. The self-explanatory user guidance, such as the menus at the side, particularly stands out when compared with other systems.
Another highlight is Corporate Planner’s flexibility. The software is very easy to customize to your own specifications. We could model our cash flow plan and connect it to our back-office system SAP with no problems at all.

    What lessons have you learned?

As soon as we’d had our introductory training, we were able to make all the necessary adjustments in Corporate Planner ourselves. That’s not what we’d been expecting. Users are very independent and can get along fine in the system without the Corporate Planning consultants.
