What was your starting point?
Before we introduced the Corporate Planning software, we were using vast quantities of Excel files for tasks that included consolidation for more than ten companies. This was extremely time-consuming and rather prone to error.
What are your highlights?
The integrated financial planning and consolidation by mouse click, which has significantly reduced the risk of error that came with the countless Excel files we were using previously. One of the most important aspects for us is the modelling, consistency and traceability of the data right through to the last posting in the respective cost centres and vouchers.
What lessons have you learned?
The better you structure your data beforehand, the easier the digitization process will be. It's worth putting in more time to build the data structures so that you can then work efficiently and effectively in the long term.
