With the Corporate Planning software along with CP-Excel Plus, we have succeeded in depicting our complex, decentralised planning process. The CP-Connectivity Express integration works as the interface between our pre-system’s SQL database and Corporate Planner to ensure smooth data transmission. The CP-Excel Plus add-in inserts the data on the CP-Server straight into our own planning tables in Microsoft Excel. This direct connection to the CP database allows us to incorporate a variety of information, such as the actual values from previous years, into our planning tables. This has led to a considerable improvement in our planning. Other advantages include the introduction of a traffic-light system controlled by a macro. With this, members of staff can check on the progress of the budget. What’s more, everyone involved can immediately see what stage has been reached in the planning process.

Though the Corporate Planning software is only used at the headquarters, we have nevertheless managed to populate the pre-system as well as Corporate Planner with plan data to produce a common data set for target-actual analysis.

In the Corporate Planning software together with CP-Excel Plus, we have created a uniform and robust planning tool for Hessische Landesbahn which is extremely important for the sustainability of the business.

Building on the P&L plan, we’re soon going to be turning our attention to enhancing our planning process with the introduction of Corporate Planner Finance. We’ll be using this to create a balance sheet as well as a sound financial plan.
