What was your starting point?
When I started at the company on 1st January 2009, there was neither a corporate performance management department nor a specialist consolidation tool. At first, we performed this exercise with the help of Excel, which was less than ideal. We introduced Corporate Planner at frostkrone not long afterwards, and we've been processing the financial figures for all the group companies with this program ever since.
What are your highlights?
The introduction of the CP database for consolidation several years ago has had a very positive impact on the entire consolidation process. Corporate Planner is not an oversized program, and creating reports and analyses in it is very straightforward, flexible and less error-prone than in Excel.
What lessons have you learned?
It's important for the staff to receive intensive training in this program so that they don't make unnecessary mistakes or spend too much extra time using it.
