VIA gGmbH - You are. We are.
Three Questions for Mr. Kösters-Dame
What was your starting point?
For VIA, it's important to be able to present the current cost and revenue situation, as well as a wide variety of KPIs, quickly and according to individual requirements. We also need to be able to create and manage highly specialized reports ourselves. Since we're a social service provider with wide-ranging fields of activity, the requirements of our report users – our executive managers, the Berlin Senate, local authorities and our members and shareholders – vary widely as well.
What are your highlights?
The Corporate Planning software makes it possible for us to create reports and work with them on the basis of the structure tree and the option to import various other KPIs (e.g. occupancy by groups with different assistance needs, occupancy rates of care facilities, employees, etc.). Our project managers and cost centre managers can enter their own planning data, including comments, via the web interface. The decentralized planning possibilities were a deciding factor.
What lessons have you learned?
From our perspective at VIA, it's a good idea to think carefully beforehand about the structure of your P&L and KPIs. And, above all, about what could be updated and calculated centrally with the master-client connection, so that you don't have to go over the formulas again manually whenever an adjustment is made.
