Zukunftswerkstatt Düsseldorf (ZWD) is a not-for-profit subsidiary of the regional capital city Düsseldorf. This social enterprise has been actively involved in the labour market, creating job opportunities and offering solutions to social problems since 1989.Working closely with the regional capital, the employment office and the local job centre, and with the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and other stakeholders, ZWD dedicates itself to Pathways to Work programmes, educational consulting, combining professional and family life, and equality.
ZWD provides financial backing for a women’s professional competency centre in Düsseldorf and the Mettmann district as part of a regional initiative for women and business in North Rhine-Westphalia. It also runs a local bicycle sharing scheme, its own environmentally friendly workshop, a waste paper disposal facility, the home help service Casa Blanka, and the Düsseldorf centre for the unemployed.
